Copeland Farley is a little girl I found out about through a friend of a friend of a friend's blog (you know how that goes). This family's story is amazing. They live in Nashville and the couple has a little 3 year old girl, Sellers. The mother, Boothe had a miscarriage and a molar pregnancy after Sellers, and had to undergo chemo (treatment for the molar pregnancy) after she lost the baby. They had already been through so much when they found out they were pregnant again with another girl just to find out that she has trisomy 18 (Edwards Syndrome).
Basically it's a third chromosome in the 18th position, whereas Down's syndrome is a third chromosome in the 21st position. Unlike Down's Syndrome, Edwards Syndrome if fatal. I don't know the statistics, but most Trisomy 18 babies don't even make it through the pregnancy, and if they do, they are only expected to live a couple of hours. This little girl made it through pregnancy, out of hospital, and today is her one week birthday at her home! These rare children can't eat or suck, but Copeland has miraculously been able to do a little of both. Every time I read this blog, I just sit and weep. Boothe writes so beautifully and openly about her experiences and emotions. The couple (and whole family) has such faith in the Lord and trust that He is in control and hasn't forsaken them. It's so easy to say, but for your faith not to alter during a trial such as this one is a miracle in itself. If you have a chance, you should go to their blog.
Read their whole story from the beginning and join with hundreds and pray for this little girl and her family.

I don't know if I've ever read something as sad and as uplifting as that blog. Thanks for posting on it; it certainly puts things into perspective.
I agree with Lisa. Boothe writes so well that it brakes my heart. Make me realize just how blessed I am to have to healthy boys.
That was suppose to read
...Makes me realize how bleesed I am to have two healthy boys.
