Little cookie monsters

I have a confession to make. I am really bad about making cookies with the boys. I mean, really, how hard is it to make up some dough, get dirty, and let the kiddos go to town? I just think about the mess left to clean up and scraping dough and icing off the walls and ceiling. But they just have so much fun!
Ive been better about it lately. The last few holidays, I have made an effort to make an event of it. They just eat it up, literally ;-)
I really want to start traditions for our little family.They are so much fun and I remember and love mine from when I was a little girl. In fact, I love my childhood traditions so much that I have incorporated some of them into my own family. Hopefully, this will become something they love and anticipate doing with every approaching holiday. I know they love it now, but I'm realistic, since they're boys, they one day will probably much prefer hunting with daddy over baking cookies with mommy. Oh well, we'll have fun while it lasts. And maybe by then, I'll have a couple of girls in the house to play with me ;-)
