I'm FINALLY legal!

So, I went to get a valid, MS drivers license the other day. That sure is a long way from the 2 year expired, maiden name, 9 year old picture, TN drivers license that I had. However, I had to retake the written part of the drivers test b/c my license was so out-of-date. Let me just say, that I would have most definitely failed the thing if I hadn't read the manual the night before. Seriously. I mean, would you have known how many feet away another car should be able to hear your horn? Or how many days your drivers license is revoked if you refuse a breathalyser test? It asked questions like that. Not whether or not you have to wear your seatbelt or which side of the road should you drive on. I'm just really glad I was spared the embarrassment of failing.... unike the girl taking the test beside me ;-)

I'm dreading getting mine changed to NC. I just got mine renewed December of last year - and I really hate having to go to the DMV more than once every four years.

Btw - I couldn't exactly tell - but has your license has been expired for all this time?

Lisa, that's kind of the funny/terrible/criminal offense part. It hasn't been expired the WHOLE time, but very sadly since April of 2006!!!!!
And Jen, don't hate me because I'm beautiful ;-) (I can barely even type that with a straight face as I look at that picture ;-)

We had to take the written test when we lived in Idaho. I put it off for as long as possible b/c I was scared that I'd fail. Imagine how embarrassing that would be!

So you finally got rid of your "duplicate" license! Good job!

I've had my current TN license for 9 years and 11 months, despite 13 moves in the past 7 years. Yet, I'll be on move #14 next week, and I already have my appointment with the San Francisco DMV to get a new one. Is it sad that I don't want to part with one of the last few things (family aside) that identifies me as a Southerner???

Love Your Cuz

I'm so proud of you! When I saw your old license a few months ago, I could not believe you were driving around with that thing!

My Louisiana license is valid, so I'm not in a rush to change it to California...especially since it has such a good picture I would frame it if I could. There's zero chance of that happening again.
